Description
Victoria House is an L-shaped group of buildings, likely timber-framed, that was refronted in the early 19th century. The façade facing the High Street is two storeys tall and finished in stucco, topped with a tiled roof. It features an eaves cornice and a stringcourse, along with two sashes that are missing their glazing bars and pediments over the ground floor windows. There is a modern doorcase set at a splayed angle with a pediment above it.
The northeast side facing Victoria Street is also two storeys with attics. The northwest half is constructed of painted brick and includes an eaves cornice, two hipped dormers, and five windows. The ground floor windows are sashes with intact glazing bars, while the upper section has two casement windows with small square leaded panes and three sash windows. The doorcase here has pilasters, a pediment, and a semi-circular fanlight. Inside, there is a notable staircase. The building has a brick and rubble plinth. To the left, there is an 18th-century extension that is two storeys tall, made of painted brick, with an old tiled roof featuring an off-centre brick stack. This extension has three sashes with most glazing bars intact and a simple cambered doorcase on the right side.
