Description
This is a barn located about 16 metres south of Ottinge Court Farm, dating from the early 16th century, with later alterations. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn features four timber-framed bays with front and rear aisles, positioned at right angles to the road. The gable end facing the road on the left has been rebuilt in red brick and includes four short buttresses. The roof is half-hipped on the left side and hipped on the right. There are central double doors with a segmental head on the left gable end.
Inside, the barn has shaped jowls on the principal posts, with chamfered arch braces supporting the tie-beams and arcade plates. Two of the right trusses feature cambered tie-beams and plain, chamfered crown posts with eccentric braces. The rest of the roof is a clasped-purlin design, supported by curved passing shores. Note that Ottinge Court Farm itself is not listed.
