Description
Lindon Hall is a house built around 1668, possibly incorporating an earlier structure, and features a doorcase from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The front elevation is constructed of red and grey brick in Flemish bond, while the right side is tile-hung on both floors, possibly over brick. The building has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high. It has a chamfered brick plinth at the front and a stone plinth on the right side, along with a plain band and a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The hipped roof has a right hip that returns to the rear. There is a brick ridge stack located between the second and third windows from the right.
The front features a regular arrangement of eight leaded two-light casements, with four on the upper floor and four on the ground floor, all set under the eaves. The ground-floor casements have pegged mullions and splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. The central entrance has a panelled door set in a panelled recess, framed by an unfluted Doric architrave topped with an Ionic-modillioned, corniced hood. On the right gable, there is a recessed brick or plaster section dated RF 1668.
To the right, there is a short rear return wing with a gable made of red brick in stretcher bond, and its roof is hipped to the rear. Adjoining this is a second wing to the left of the main stack, featuring a gable made of smaller red and grey bricks in a mixed bond, slightly lower eaves, and a hipped plain tile roof. There are also two further conjoined rear wings to the left, each with lower eaves and ridge, a tile-hung gable end, and a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
