Description

Elham War Memorial is located at the northern end of High Street. It features a decorative wrought iron cross with a figure of Christ crucified, embellished with gilded sun bursts. This cross rises from a moulded capital atop a tapering, octagonal shaft, which stands on a square plinth raised on a round, five-stepped base. Surrounding the memorial is a small concrete pavement and kerb.

On the north-facing side of the plinth, there is an inscription that reads "1914 – 1918 / IN MEMORIAM / R.I.P." The other sides of the plinth list the names of the men who died in the First World War. Additionally, an inscription around the top step of the base states "ALSO / 1939 – 1945," along with the names of those who fell in the Second World War. All inscriptions are incised.
