Description

Oxenden Cottage is a house dating to the 19th century. The facade is a mix of red and grey bricks in a Flemish bond. The left gable end is tile-hung, likely over brick, while the right gable end is a paler red brick in a Sussex-type bond. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features a dentilled brick eaves cornice to the right gable end, as well as a hipped roof. A broad, projecting tile-hung stack is located on the left gable end. The front of the house has a regular two-window arrangement with sixteen-pane sashes; the ground-floor windows have segmental heads. A central panelled door is topped by three lights and has a segmental head. There is a flint lean-to at the rear, with brick dressings. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
