Description
Forge Cottage and two adjoining cottages form a row of houses, with the left section dating from 1803 and the right section being slightly later. The left section is constructed from roughly coursed galleted stone, while the right section uses small blocks of coursed galleted stone with red brick dressings. The buildings have a plain tile roof and are double depth, standing two storeys high with a cellar. The roof is hipped, with the hips returning, and features a brick gable end stack on the left and a central brick ridge stack at the right end of the left section. The front has a regular arrangement of four windows, with two 2-light casements in each section. The ground-floor windows have segmental heads. There is a boarded door at the center of the left section, a half-glazed door at the left end of the right section, and a blocked door at the right end. A datestone from 1803 is located above the door of the left section. The interior has not been inspected.
