Description
Forge Cottage and Rookery Nook is a house that has been converted into two cottages, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The building is timber framed, with parts faced in diaper brickwork set on a sarsen stone plinth. It has a thatched roof and originally was a single storey with an attic, but was raised to two storeys in the 18th century. The structure has a three-bay plan, featuring a rear lean-to that extends under the roof, along with an additional bay to the right that has been refaced in brick and includes a 20th-century brick porch. The entrance has a boarded door, and the windows are made of timber from the 20th century. There is also a 20th-century lean-to at the right gable end.
