Description
Falconhurst Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 15th century, with cladding and extensions added in the early 18th century. It has a timber frame and is clad with painted brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. Originally designed as a hall house, it is two storeys high with an attic, consisting of two sections. The left section features a plinth, a hipped roof with a gablet, and a stack at the rear left, along with a cluster of stacks on the right. The roof of the right section steps up to the 18th-century addition, which also has a plinth, a plat, a hipped dormer, and a stack at the end. Each block has two wooden casements on both floors, with a small casement in the stack-bay of the framed building on the first floor. To the left, there is a painted ragstone outshot with a boarded door, and to the right, a plank and stud door is located in a gabled porch. There are also outshots at the rear. The interior features a timber frame that is believed to date back to around 1480. The farmhouse served as a manorial and former parochial center, with the church of St. Leonard located about 100 meters to the north.
