Description

Upper Park Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, later altered in the 18th and 20th centuries and now used as a house. The ground floor is constructed of roughly coursed stone, while the first floor is of patched red brick in an irregular bond. The roof is covered in plain tiles and has a hipped profile, with a brick gable end stack on the left side and a brick ridge stack to the rear wing where it joins the main range. The windows are a mix of 20th-century metal casements, comprising two two-light and two three-light windows. The front door features six fielded panels, a segmental head, and a flat hood, positioned slightly to the right. A rear lean-to is located on the left side. A roughly central rear stair turret is present at the rear. A rear wing extending to the right was originally short but has since been extended. The interior, partially inspected, reveals chamfered ground-floor beams, an inglenook fireplace, and an 18th-century stud partition wall in the entrance passage.
