Description

These are two mid-19th century buildings, numbers 8 and 9 Marine Parade, Folkestone. They are four storeys high, with attics and a basement, and have been colour-washed. The roof is a renewed pantiled mansard style with four dormers. A parapet is present, featuring a moulded dentilled eaves cornice below the second floor. The upper floors have six round-headed sash windows with only vertical glazing bars. The first floor features two three-light bays, two French windows, and a cast iron balcony. The ground floor is rusticated and incorporates three-light canted bays. A doorcase has been enclosed with a modern glass porch. Numbers 4 to 15 Marine Parade form a group.
