Description

The British Lion Inn dates to the early 19th century. It is a two-storey building situated on the south side of The Bayle in Folkestone. Number 8 is constructed of brown brick, while The British Lion Inn itself is stuccoed. The building has five sash windows with intact glazing bars. A small bay window on the ground floor features a painted stone figure of a lion in a seated position outside the entrance. Number 8 has a moulded doorcase with a cornice. The British Lion Inn forms a group with Priory House and numbers 4 to 18 (even).
