Description

26 and 28, The Bayle, is a mid-19th century building in Folkestone, originally three storeys high with a basement, and built of stucco. It has a moulded eaves cornice. The building has four windows in total. Number 26 has been altered with modern windows. Number 28 retains its original sash windows with glazing bars, along with cornices and brackets above the windows. A string course runs along the facade. The building features round-headed doorcases, each topped with a fanlight. Numbers 26 to 40 (even) form a group with the Battery, and the grounds of the Battery and The Globe Inn contribute to the setting.
