Description

The Rating Office is a building from the 18th century, located on Church Approach on the north-east side. It has a front that may belong to an older house and is constructed of red brick with grey headers, featuring two storeys and a parapet. The building has four sash windows, although the glazing bars are missing. The doorcase has lost its hood and carved brackets, and the door itself consists of eight fielded panels, two of which have been cut away and replaced with glazing. The north-east front, which faces the garden, includes a curved gable. The Rating Office and the Assembly Rooms are part of a group of buildings.
