Description

The Meads is an 18th-century building with a front elevation constructed on the frontage of an older house, likely dating to the 17th century. It is built of red brick with a parapet and a hipped roof covered in old tiles. The front has four windows on the first floor, each with architrave surrounds. Three similar double-hung sash windows with glazing bars are present on the ground floor. A six-panel door, with glazed upper panels, is set within a moulded frame and has a plain surround and a wide doorcase featuring panelled pilasters with console brackets supporting a moulded cornice. The door is located in the second bay from the left, and a later wing of the early 19th century extends to the right. The house is set back on the corner of the road, opposite a triangular green, and is accompanied by a large walled garden that contains several fine trees.
