7/138 Granary/stables 11.10.63 about 30 metres south east of Heronden

GV II

Granary, used as stables. Late C17. Red brick with plain tiled roof. Two storeys on plinth with plat band. Shaped gables. Rib and stud loft door and 1 leaded segmentally headed wooden casement on ground floor,and rib and stud door on left return. Interior; stabling and harness cupboard for 2 ponies. Several bricks by the door in left return initialled; TB 1698, postdating the structure. (see Country Life, August 11 & 18, 1960).
