Description

This house and shop, located on the east side of Wingham High Street, dates to the 16th century or earlier, with significant extensions from 1784. The building is a timber-framed structure, now rendered, with painted brick additions. It has plain-tiled roofs and a pantiled outshot. The central section is a single storey, while a two-storey gabled cross wing projects to the right and a two-storey block with an attic extends to the left. The left block features a hipped dormer window and stacks with catslide outshot to the right. The first floor has two wooden casement windows to the left and one to the right. The ground floor has a series of glazed shop bays, a glazed entrance door to the right, and a rib-and-stud door to the left. A projecting jetty is concealed by the fascia of the right-hand gabled wing.
