Description
Nos. 113 and 114 on High Street are a pair of houses dating from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in 1667 and an extension added in the mid-19th century. The buildings are timber framed, rendered, and weather boarded on the left side, with a thatched roof that is partly tiled. They are one storey high with an attic, featuring a left section that projects outwards. This section has two gabled dormers on the left and two swept dormers on the right, along with chimney stacks on the left and towards the centre right.
On the left side, there is a three-light 17th-century bay window, while the right side has a two-light mullioned and leaded window and two segmentally headed wooden casements, separated by a buttress strip. There are boarded doors at the left end and in the centre. The gabled dormers are marked with the date "T B 16 67," indicating when a floor was inserted into the earlier open hall, which consists of a single bay on the left, with a two-storey, one-bay parlour wing on the right.
