Description

NONINGTON ST. ALBANS COURT TR 25 SE 3/158 Wall and Gateways to north forecourt 11.6.86 of St.Albans Court GV II Wall and 2 gateways. Circa 1875. George Devey for William Oxenden Hammond. Main section of wall of ragstone below and brick above with ragged edge between the 2 and with mock machicolation and brick cornice; linked to octagonal stone pier at S.E. end, in turn linked to lower wall joined to north wall of St.Albans Court. Further pier and low section of walling at N.W. end. Two moulded four centred stone gateways with dripstones set within the wall with intermediate buttress and with buttress to right; narrow gateway to left and vehicular gateway to right.
