Description
This is a row of seven headstones located about 2 metres east of the Church of St Mary. The headstones include the following: Avery Child, who died in 1760, features cherub's head and death's head motifs; Elizabeth Stringer of Ripple Court from the mid-18th century, also decorated with cherub's heads; Stephen Stringer, who died in 1761, has a scrolled head with a cherub's head; Ann Stringer, who died in 1773, displays an acanthus enriched head with two cherubs' heads; Stephen Stringer, who died in 1780, is adorned with an urn and two cherubs in a floriate, scrolled head; John Stanley, who died in 1743, features two death's heads and palm fronds; and Stephen Sandy, who died in 1731, is decorated with a death's head, hourglass, and coffin.
