Description

This is a wall and gateway built around 1813 by Sir John Soane, located about 50 metres southwest of Ringwould House. The structure is made of brown brick mixed with pebbles. The wall stands approximately 5 feet high on a plinth and features frequent capped buttresses. It extends about 50 metres in an east-west direction and returns about 50 metres north along Church Lane. The gateway is recessed, with the walls sweeping inward and panels of unknapped pebbles. The gate piers are topped with disc finials. This structure is part of the building works commissioned by the Monins family for Ringwould House.
