Description
Chain Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from the early and late 18th century. They are constructed of red brick and flint, with an extension featuring a tile-hung wing and a plain tiled roof. No. 1, located on the right, has two storeys set on a flint plinth, with brick corbelled eaves leading to the roof, which has a stack at the end right. It features two sash windows on each floor and a central wooden casement in a blocked doorway. The current entrance is located on the right return in a buff brick outshot with a slate roof. No. 2, on the left, is a taller two-storey structure that is tile-hung, with stacks at both the end left and end right. It has one glazing bar sash window on each floor and a boarded door to the right.
