Description
Ringwould House is a house built in 1813 by Sir John Soane for Reverend John Monins, with extensions added in the early 19th century. The house is constructed of buff brick and features a slate roof with a large central chimney stack. The center of the building slightly projects and is rendered, originally having a large porch that has since been removed. The windows are arranged regularly, with three glazing bar sashes on the first floor and two on the ground floor, along with a central panelled door that has a rectangular fanlight and sidelights set in a pilaster surround. To the left, there are two recessed wings; the first has a hipped roof and the second has a gabled roof, with one glazing bar sash on each floor and a relief of a coat of arms to the center left. The right return of the house has five bays and shows the outline of a conservatory that is now lost. Inside, there are reports of panelling and library fittings.
