Description
No. 41 High Street is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of red brick in both Flemish and English bonds, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building showcases the East Kent Artisan Mannerist style and features two storeys and a basement.
The façade includes a plinth with a plat band and ten brick pilasters on the upper storey, each with moulded bases and capitals. There is a moulded brick eaves cornice beneath the hipped roof, which has stacks positioned to the left, rear left, and clustered to the right. On the first floor, there are four three-light wooden casements, while the ground floor has a shallow bow to the left and two plate glass bays, with a central wooden casement.
The entrance features a door made of six raised and fielded panels, accompanied by a rectangular fanlight set in a moulded surround to the left. To the right, there is a half-glazed door flanked by fluted pilasters and an enriched cornice. The ground floor has blocked segmental openings, and there is a faded date plaque at the top right inscribed with "S 1 6."
