Description

No. 35 High Street is a house dating from the late 16th century, which was refronted in the mid-19th century. It has a timber frame that is rendered, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys, a basement, and an attic, featuring a stack at the rear and one flat-roofed dormer. On the first floor, there are two sash windows, while the ground floor has one sash window and a door with six raised and fielded panels, of which the top two are glazed. The basement opening is centrally located. Inside, there is evidence of original framing that indicates a jetty to the road front, along with a brick-lined cellar that incorporates the framed exterior truss of the adjacent No. 34.
