(North Side) 5/241 Lychgate about 10 metres south of 11.10.63 Church of St. James

GV II

Lychgate. Dated 1664. Timber framed with plain tiled roof. Three posts arched braced to ground, and braced from these arches to the roof plate. Hipped roof with gablets. Arched heads to pedestrian entry and, less marked, to main bier gateway. Inscribed over bier gate: HS.1664 I.B.
