Description
This is a barn located about 20 metres north of Northbourne Court, dating from the 17th century and extended in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof set on a flint base. The barn features flint and brown brick kneelered parapet gables on the end walls, and the rear elevation is heavily buttressed. There is a shallow hipped porch on the left and a full hipped midstrey on the right. A central projecting extension from the 19th century has pilastered side walls and a gable supported by large pilasters with entablature blocks. The end wall contains a segmentally headed window, and the side elevation has sunk panels. At the left (east) end, there is a pantiled outshot with a moulded panelled door facing Northbourne Court. Inside, the barn is aisled, with high base walls to the arcade, quadrant bracing to the posts, and a roof featuring clasped purlins with secondary staggered purlins.
