Description
The Wool Stores, located southwest of No 6 Pound Lane, date from the 16th or 17th century. The left portion features a base made of flint and brick, with two storeys that are weather-boarded above. It has a hipped roof covered with old tiles, and includes casement and sash windows, as well as three trap doors. The right side is constructed from flint and robbed medieval masonry, with stone dressings. In the center, there is a wooden section that includes a pulley. The rear elevation shows traces of timber-framing. The Wool Stores, along with Nos 6 to 12 (consecutive), form a group.
