Description
Denchworth Manor's Old Wool Store, located approximately 100 metres west of the manor, is a house noted for its date of 1708. It features roughcast walls with a limestone rubble plinth and a stone slate roof. The building has stone roughcast stacks and an inserted 20th-century brick stack on the left. The original layout is unclear, but it stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a three-window range. There is a label mould over a late 19th-century four-centred doorway that leads to a ribbed door from the same period. The windows are 20th-century cross windows, with three-light windows on the ground floor and two-light windows above. Inside, there are chamfered beams, although most of the first floor has been removed. A 18th-century studded door is located at the rear right. The roof is a four-bay queen-post design with curved side struts, butt purlins, and wind braces.
