Description

49 North Lane is a 2-storey building primarily constructed in the 18th century, although it conceals a 2-bay timber-framed structure from the 16th century behind its exterior. Many of the original floor joists, along with several main posts and tie beams, are still intact. One of the main posts features a pronounced jowl and has a brace connecting it to the tie beam. The facade is made of red brick with grey headers, and the roof is hipped and tiled. On the ground floor, there is one cambered casement window, and to the left, there is a cambered doorcase. The rear elevation is tile hung.
