Description
Montague House, built around 1835, is a two-storey stuccoed building located on the west side of Oxenden Street in Herne Bay. The house features three windows and is adorned with a string course, cornice, and parapet. On the ground floor, there are two canted bays with French windows and an iron balcony. Above, the casement windows retain their glazing bars and have architraves supported on consoles. The south window bay is recessed, and there is a doorcase on the north side of the house that includes a semi-circular fanlight. Montague House is part of a group that includes Hamilton House, Beaufort House, and Oxenden House.
