Description
Dolphin Court, number 110 Central Parade, is a building dating from 1834. Originally known as The Dolphin Hotel, it forms part of a group with numbers 101 to 108 Central Parade. The building is constructed of brown brick, with the ground floor rendered in rusticated stucco. It has four storeys and features a cornice and parapet above the third floor. A stuccoed cornice is present above the second floor, with a wide band below it bearing the name of the hotel. An iron balcony is located on the first floor. The first-floor windows are set within moulded architrave surrounds with cornices, supported by consoles. Three modern bay windows have been added to the ground floor. The original glazing pattern is retained on the second and third floors. The front facing Dolphin Street displays a doorway with twin pilasters and a projecting cornice. Two Victorian bays have been added to the ground and first floors of this front, and a wing extends to the south.
