Description

This is an 18th-century building of four storeys, constructed of painted brick and topped with a coping. The front features two sash windows with original glazing bars, set within moulded architraves. The top floor contains a single window, while the first floor has two fine 18th-century, three-light curved bow windows with a modillion cornice. A later 19th-century shop front is present, characterized by reeded pilasters and panelled risers. The building is part of a group with numbers 1 to 8A (consecutive) and 10 to 16 (consecutive) on Mercery Lane, as well as numbers 1 to 9 (consecutive) on Butchery Lane. It also forms a group with numbers 10 to 16 (consecutive) and numbers 6A and 7 on The Parade.
