Description

No 38 Burgate is a corner building that forms one property with No 16 Mercery Lane. This building dates back to the 15th century but was refaced in the early 19th century. It has three storeys and is constructed of painted brick, featuring one dormer and a rainwater head. There are three windows facing northeast, and the extension includes one three-light sash window on the first floor. The building has a modern shopfront. Together with Nos 38 to 44 Burgate and Nos 1 to 9 Butchery Lane, as well as Nos 1 to 8A and Nos 10 to 16 Mercery Lane, it forms a group of listed buildings.
