Description

The Olive Branch Public House, located at 59 Burgate, is a 18th-century building with a facade that features a timber frame. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of brick, topped with an old tiled roof. The building has a wooden bracket cornice and includes two cambered 19th-century sash windows. A stringcourse and keystone are present, and the 19th-century front has a central doorcase with a rectangular fanlight, along with a side doorcase that features a panelled door. This public house is part of a group that includes Nos 38 to 44 and Nos 1 to 9 on Butchery Lane, as well as Nos 1 to 8A and Nos 10 to 16 on Mercery Lane.
