Description

Sylvan House is an early 18th-century building that has been refaced with cement. It stands two storeys high with attics and features a tiled roof with a restored dormer. The building has a moulded wooden eaves cornice and a stringcourse. On the ground floor, there are three sashes with intact glazing bars and keystones. The entrance boasts a good doorcase with a flat wooden hood supported by console brackets, a rusticated surround, a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, and a band of reeding beneath it. The door itself is a six-panelled design. The left side elevation displays a curved Dutch gable with a sliding sash, while the other end of the building is attached to the City Wall.
