Description
Anchor House is an early 18th-century building that has undergone some alterations. It is two storeys high with attics and features four windows on the ground floor. The structure is made of red brick, with gauged flat arches above the sash windows, which now only have central glazing bars. There is a wooden bracket eaves cornice and a tiled roof. The hipped casement dormers have horizontal glazing bars, and there is a projecting end chimney. A tiled gabled porch, likely added later, is present, along with high wall screens that enclose the front garden. Inside, there is a close string staircase with heavy turned balusters, a massive handrail, and square newels.
