Description
22 High Street is an early 18th century house that stands two storeys tall with attics. It is constructed of painted brick and features a plastered plinth. The roof is hipped and tiled, with two hipped tiled dormers. Notable architectural details include a fine moulded projecting eaves cornice and a stringcourse. The central doorcase on the ground floor is flanked by moulded pilasters and has plain brackets that support a lintel board. There are two later bar fronts. On the first floor, there are three sash windows in exposed frames, with the upper halves retaining their glazing bars. The ground floor has two large modern segmental-arched windows on either side of the doorcase, both with plaster surrounds and centre voussoirs. The rear elevation features two half-hipped weatherboarded gables.
