Description
SWALE HOUSE is a good late 18th century to early 19th century house located on West Street in Queenborough, facing the sea. The building consists of two parallel ranges and stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick, with one-storey flanking wings on either side; the right side wing has an additional storey added. It features a stringcourse, a parapet, and a concealed tiled roof.
On the second floor, there are two sash windows in recessed frames and one blank space. The first floor has three sash windows also in recessed frames, while the ground floor boasts four round-headed sash windows. The central entrance includes a doorcase with a projecting porch supported by Tuscan columns, a fanlight with circular tracery, and moulded pilasters. The entrance door is a six fielded panelled door. The interior has been modernized.
