Description

The Cemetery Gateway at St Augustine's College is a Grade I listed structure dating from the 14th century, with restoration completed in 1839. It features a stone arch with a chamber above, flanked by octagonal turrets made of ashlar, brick, and flints. The gateway is topped with a crenellated parapet and machicolations. The rear elevation includes rooms built on. This gateway is part of a group that includes No 1, the wall adjoining No 1 to the right, a water pump opposite No 1, No 2, Nos 4 to 18 (even), St Augustine's College, Hall, Chapel, The Great Gateway, and the wall in front of St Augustine's.
