Description

This barn, located about 20 metres east of Ruffyn's Hill Farmhouse, dates back to the 16th century. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded on a red brick base, with ragstone on the right return. The roof is plain tiled, hipped to the left and half-hipped to the right, with a hipped midstrey. Inside, the barn has five bays with high aisles and terminal outshots, along with long passing shores and eccentric bracing to the main posts supporting a renewed clasped purlin roof. Encased in the ragstone wall on the right return is a Victorian cast iron post box.
