Description

This is an 18th-century sundial located 20 yards southwest of Chilham Castle. It features a stone and metal plaque with a fluted twisted stem on an octagonal base, topped with a reused medieval capital. The plaque is inscribed with "Thomas Wright, Instrument maker to H.M. George II."
