Description
The garden terraces to the south of Chilham Castle date from the late 17th century to the early 18th century and are constructed of red brick. They consist of a flight of three terraces, approximately 7 feet high and 30 yards long, with brick and stone steps featuring ball finials and urns at either end. A further 30 yards to the south is a terrace wall from the 17th century, standing about 12 feet high. The uppermost terrace wall curves around to the east in front of the house's entrance, enclosing a forecourt that includes statuary on corner piers and large urns on either side of a flight of three steps.
