The toll booth, located opposite The Old Gatehouse on the A28, dates from the 18th century. It is a small square structure made of painted brick and features a tin roof with oversailing courses of brick. The booth has a plank door that includes a viewing hole. This building is part of a group with the 18th-century toll house situated on the opposite side of the turnpike road and is included in the listing for its group value.
