Description
The mausoleum, located 20 meters southwest of All Saints Church, was built in the late 18th century for the Heathcote family. It features a combination of blue brick in a header band, red brick, and Portland stone dressings, topped with a domed lead roof. The structure is single storey with a square plan, supported by red brick clasping buttresses and a plinth. The entrance includes a six-panel door framed by a stone Gibbs surround, with a stone surround above a brick panel lunette. On the opposite side, there is a tablet from 1797 dedicated to Samuel Heathcote, set within a red brick surround that has stone key blocks and a sill. Inside, there is a moulded plaster cornice, and the domed lead roof is complemented by a glazed dome.
