Description

The following buildings shall be added:-

WINCHESTER ROMSEY ROAD SU4729SE Peninsula Barracks: Gymnasium 869-0/5/10009 II GV Barracks gymnasium. 1899-1904 by E. Ingress Bell. Flemish bond red brick with Portland stone dressings. Slate roof with stone coping to gable ends. Long rectangular plan. Single storey building with two tiers of windows. Symmetrical 1:5:1:5:1 bay west front, end bays blind, centre bay with rusticated stone doorway with pediment and semi-circular fanlight. Rusticated stone corner pilasters. Lower windows have continuous stone cill band and 2-light horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars. Upper windows also with glazing bars and with stone cills. Similar rear [east] elevation. Interior not inspected.
