Description
23 Kingsgate Road is a building dating from 1833, located on the east side of Kingsgate Road. It features a mix of 18th century and earlier architectural elements. The structure is two storeys high, with a three-storey gable at one end. The walls are made of painted brick, and it has an old tile roof.
On the first floor, there are five windows, while the ground floor has two windows and a central door. The gable head includes one window. The door is framed by a panelled architrave surround, topped with a plain entablature and a moulded hood that is supported by flat cut brackets. The door itself is a six-panel design with flush petrels. The windows are sash style, featuring glazing bars.
There is also a later two-storey wing on the right side of the building, constructed of brick with a tile mansard roof. The buildings numbered 22 to 27 form a cohesive group with this property.
