Description

These are two cottages, originally part of Knowle Farmhouse, and dating back to the 17th century. The timber frame structure was re-clad in the late 18th century, with a 19th-century extension added to the rear. The front walls are built of brick with blue headers, flush red quoins, and cambered arches, sitting on a plinth. Sections of the original timber frame are visible, largely covered in cement and filled with brick. One south-facing gable is tile-hung. The roof is tiled, with a catslide section at the rear, and consists of lower gables of varying dates. The symmetrical front elevation, facing south-east, is two storeys high with three windows. The windows are casement style. A plain central doorway is found at No. 3, while No. 4 has a recessed entrance on the south side.
