Description
This is a house, dating primarily from the 17th century, with significant alterations in the early 18th and early 19th centuries. The brick construction incorporates a tile roof. The front (south side) presents a symmetrical facade of three stories and five windows, with two windows on the ground floor that are wider than the others. A red brick moulded cornice returns at the ends. The brickwork features blue headers with flush red dressings, quoins, rubbed flat arches, and window openings set within red panels, with a projecting band marking the second floor. The ground floor has been altered with a stucco finish and two wide windows fitted with Victorian sash windows. The first floor has bands, moulded quoins, and a plinth. Sash windows are set within exposed frames. A plain doorway is topped by a large, moulded canopy supported by carved brackets, leading to a six-panelled door with four upper glazed panels. The roof is hipped with a catslide to the rear. The rear of the building, on the east side, is a lower block of one story and an attic, featuring timber framing indicative of an earlier structure.
