Description
The Old School House Restaurant, located at No 60 West Street in New Alresford, is a late 18th-century building. It is constructed of stucco and features a modern tile roof. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with a total of two windows on the first floor and one on the second. The building has a plinth and plain openings, while the west side showcases a segmental bow that contains two windows and is topped with a moulded cornice. The eaves cornice is adorned with a full set of mouldings. The windows are sash style.
The entrance features a doorcase with an open segmental pediment supported by broken cornices and console brackets. It includes moulded pilasters, panelled reveals, an oval-arched opening with a radiating fanlight, and double doors that have six panels. A central leaded dormer is present on the roof. On either side of the entrance, the forecourt is defined by a low wall with rounded corners, which supports iron railings.
