SU 24 SW AMPORT CHOLDERTON PARK 4/10 Home Farm House

G.V. II

Farmhouse. Probably of C18 origin but Gothicised in C19 possibly by G Devey. Mostly rendered and colourwashed, with stone dressings; Welsh slate roofs, mostly behind parapets; grey brick chimney stacks with red brick caps and white square plan pots. 'U' plan, 2 storeys. South elevation of 4 bays with the two inner bays projecting: angled corner buttresses with Gothic pinnacles; pairs of French doors to lower bays, some with fanlight over; to first floor are composite windows having 8-pane sashes with flanking sidelights. Matching windows to first bay or returns in east and west sides; on the east side are 2-storey and single-storey extensions northwards, the former with small-pane casement windows for 2 bays, the latter having 2 pointed-arched 'Y'-traceried casement windows. Entrance through small porch on north side. Interior not seen.
